JOHN H. THOMISEE, JR.

John H. Thomisee, Jr. attended South Texas College of Law where he graduated summa cum laude and was ranked 2nd in his class.

Mr. Thomisee has been licensed to practice in Texas since 1989, and he is also licensed to practice before the U. S. District Courts for the Southern, Northern, and Eastern Districts of Texas and the U. S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute.

Mr. Thomisee co-authored Cornell’s Texas Insurance Law Digest, 2000 edition, and he has published articles on insurance coverage issues. Mr. Thomisee has also authored and presented seminars over the past 26 years to the insurance industry on numerous topics. He was formerly an Adjunct Professor of Law at South Texas College of Law where he developed and taught a course on Insurance Law.

Martindale-Hubbell has given Mr. Thomisee an AV rating which is the highest rating which can be acheived concerning legal ability and ethical standards. He was also named one of Texas’ top attorneys by Texas’ Top Rated Lawyers, 2012 Edition.

Mr. Thomisee’s experience includes the litigation of personal injury, commercial, employment, insurance coverage and insurance bad faith cases. Mr. Thomisee also has experience handling Texas Tort Claims Act cases, and he has represented municipalities and governmental entities over the years. He has argued appeals before various Texas Courts of Appeals and before the U. S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Thomisee is a certified mediator, and he is available to mediate all types of civil disputes.

John is married to Donna F. Thomisee who is also an attorney. They have been married for more than 25 years. They have two grown children.
